Active optical cable (AOC) is a kind of optical fiber patch cord with optical transceiver at both ends. It is an alternative of optical fiber module. Since its interface is shielded inside, they can be protected perfectly from dirty and damage, and hence the stability and reliability of the system are greatly improved.
